Rob Swenson, Editor of the Sioux Falls Business Journal joined us to talk about their new issue.

The cover story is about jobs of the future – where the jobs in South Dakota will be.

One sector that is big now and will continue to be big is retail. a report by the S.D. Department of Labor indicates that the sector will grow in jobs by 8.8 percent from 2008 to 2018.

Rob tells us, that translates to more than 41,000 more jobs. other growth sectors are expected to include health care, technology and financial service.

In addition, in  the December 28th edition, they  give out the end-of-the-year “Buzzard Awards” in the Business Buzz column.

It's a half-serious column recognizing business-related accomplishments of the past year. Mayor Mike Huether nabs the “Mover & Shaker” award for his leadership in getting voter approval of the of the events center.
